Year 5 'War and Peace'
Year 5 wowed the whole school, family and friends with their assembly "War and Peace". The children worked very hard to learn their words and performed beautifully. The children showed off their air raid shelters that they had completed for homework, shared poems they had written in history lessons and letters they had written in role, based on the book "Goodnight Mr Tom". A special thank you to Niamaya’s neighbour Angela for writing about her time during the war. They finished the assembly with a song about peace and love. Mrs Doyle and Mrs Yates are very proud of them. Well done Year 5!
Remembrance Day - A Special Family Time
Families were invited to join their child in decorating El Salvador Crosses and Peace Doves. It was wonderful to see so many families filling our school hall. Mr Manning (Chair of Governors and parent) played ‘The Last Post’ on his cornet and we held a minute’s silence. The morning symbolised peace, love and hope for the future. Thank you to everyone who came.
Black History Sharing Assembly
It was fantastic to see that so many parents came to watch the children display what they have been learning during Black History Month. The children shared a variety of songs, poems, dances and speeches
The children’s learning showed some fantastic messages of love, equality, friendship and peace. Children shared their future dreams having explored many important messages whilst learning from history. It gave children an opportunity to demonstrate their understanding or humanity and the importance of loving your neighbour.
