Welcome to the Year 5
The children in Year 5 are taught by Miss Lichfield and supported by Jacque.
In Year 5 we aim to ensure that learning is fun, challenging and rewarding. We will achieve this through a range of topics, educational visits and enrichment activities. We have lots of very exciting things planned for this year and the one that we are most looking forward to is "The Young Voices" concert .
Homework will be given out on a Friday and needs to be returned before the following Wednesday.
Spellings will also be given out on a Friday and should be learnt ready for a spelling test on the following Friday.
PE will take place on Thursday afternoon and will be taught by Mr. Eaton (PE co-ordinator). Children will need their PE kit on this day.
PE Kit consist of house coloured t-shirt, black shorts/leggings/tracksuit bottoms and trainers.
Enrichment activities will take place on a Wednesday afternoon and more information will be given out in due course.
Please keep your eyes peeled for what will be going on in Year 5 this year.
In Year 5, we have been looking at changing states and properties of materials. As part of this exciting project, we have been conducting lots of science experiments, including which materials keep ice cool the longest to work out what the best lunch box material would be. We also looked at soluble and insoluble materials and did a fantastic experiment to see which solids would dissolve in liquids. We have had lots of fun this half-term!
