Our Local Governing Board are:
Mrs Lorraine Graham Chair of Local Academy Board SEND Governor
I have been involved in education the whole of my working life. I started in a middle school before moving on to a girls’ secondary school teaching mainstream children who had special educational needs. I made the move as a senior teacher to a large co-ed school in Lichfield where I became Learning Support Coordinator and was in charge of creating a fully inclusive environment for pupils with a wide range of needs. In addition, I provided training for Staffordshire, helped develop and implement the Inclusion Quality Mark and was involved in curriculum development for the QCA.
Since retiring I have undertaken SEN consultancy along with becoming a governor at St George’s CE Primary, Edgbaston. My interests are travel, reading, cross-stitch family and local history along with watching West Brom!
My aspiration is to help and support our school in maintaining its Christian ethos along with providing the very best education for all of our children.

I am Vicar of St George's Edgbaston and a parent of children at the school. I hold a PhD from the University of Birmingham and before I was ordained I worked as an academic researcher. I have a particular interest in lifelong education as I teach theology to ministers across the diocese. As parish priest my role is to help St George's School flourish spiritually. I lead collective worship and am available for pastoral care of pupils, families, and staff - of all faiths and beliefs. |

Mr Rowland Hopkins Resources Group Chair Pupil Premium Governor
Many years ago my daughter, who is now a teacher at a primary school in the Solihull area, was a pupil at St George’s. While she was there, I decided to become involved in the governance of the school. I have continued to be a governor ever since, including at times serving as chair. Over the years I’ve seen changes of head teacher, alterations to the building and changes of structure, such as becoming an academy, but my aim, as a governor, has always been to ensure that the school serves the community, brings out the best in each child and provides an excellent education. As a committed church member, I particularly value its Christian ethos as something that enhances the learning environment for all children, whatever their faith background. As a retired member of the legal profession, I would say the experience I bring to the governing body is that of the ability to take in detailed information, the ability to ask critical questions where necessary and an interest in good governance. |

Mrs Shauna-Kay Bailey School Development Group Link Governor
My name is Shauna-kay Bailey, I came to the UK as a little girl from the tiny island of Jamaica over 30 years ago and made Birmingham my home. I have worked in many industries which included catering and sales and customer service. I started my Journey with St Georges when my son started school in the reception class, my daughter would follow suit a few years later. I joined the governing body as a parent offering my skills and experience from my many years in customer services. I then became a member of staff in my role as a qualified play worker helping to run a successful after school care service. I am also a dinner supervisor. My aspirations for St George’s Church of England Primary are to be able to continue offering and education that is rich in diversity and opportunities not seen in other inner-city schools. And to continue giving the sense of family and community it already has. |

Mr William Graham Resources Group Heath & Safety Governor I began my career as a secondary school science teacher where my interest in outdoor learning began. I went on to manage an environmental education centre on behalf of Birmingham L.A.at Birmingham Botanical Gardens and in my advisory capacity developed numerous curriculum projects with schools.
In 2001, I was appointed as Executive Director of a charity created to work with all agricultural and rural sectors in order to help young people learn more about food, farming and the countryside. In 2006, I was awarded an OBE.
I retired in 2013 and now assist organisations developing outdoor learning along with practical gardening.
Since becoming a governor, I’ve helped our school with developing its grounds and my hopes are to encourage all our children to become interested and engaged with the outdoors.
